Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, Lodz University of Technology, Poland Scientific interests concern the so-called stochastic mechanics, reliability analysis, computer methods in mechanics, composite mechanics and the theory of homogenization of random centers. In his work he uses the computational systems of the Finite Element Method as well as the MAPLE computer algebra environment. He was a member of scientific committees of over 60 international and national conferences. In 1999-2000 he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rice University (Houston, TX, USA) under the Scholarship for Young Doctors from the Foundation for Polish Science in Warsaw, in 2009-2015 he was a visiting professor at Leibniz Institut fűr Polymerforschung (Dresden, Germany ), and in 2013 - at the Politecnico di Milano. He was the manager of research projects financed by the State Committee for Scientific Research, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Science Center. He has been awarded many times for his scientific activities. In 1996, he was a laureate of the Scholarship for Young Scholars from the Foundation for Polish Science. He was also a laureate of the Award of the Polish Association for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, the Award of the Polish Association for Computational Mechanics, J. Argyris Award from ECCOMAS and Elsevier, and the JT Oden Scholarship at The University of Texas (Austin, TX, USA), the Bronze Cross of Merit, and the Silver Medal for Long Service. He will speak on “Earthquake resistance evaluation and dynamic performance of spatial frames”.
